Multi-physics simulation method for automotive motors with variable working conditions based on multi-software combination

This paper proposes a multi-physics simulation method for automotive motors under variable working conditions based on multi-software combination. The combination of finite element and lumped parameter method can realize the simultaneous simulation of finite element and variable working conditions, so that the simulation process is closer to the actual working process. Based on the analysis of the temperature field and electromagnetic field of the motor, the mathematical model of multi-physics field coupling is decomposed, and the multi-software joint simulation model is established using Maxwell-Simplorer-Simulink. The finite element model is reduced in order using the equivalent current extraction method, which greatly improves the calculation speed of the model. The joint simulation model in this paper is a fully coupled model, which can realize the data exchange and transmission between different software models, thereby realizing the transient simulation of the motor under different working conditions. By using this joint simulation method, the synchronous simulation of multiple physical fields can be obtained at the same time, and the real-time data interaction of the joint simulation model can be realized, avoiding the error caused by the non-fully coupled model simulation process due to the asynchronous. Finally, the motor output torque is verified by experiment. The torque error between the model and the experiment is less than 3%, which proves the effectiveness and accuracy of the multi-field coupling multi-software joint simulation method.
