Biomarkers of Prothrombotic State and Risk Assessment of Exacerbations in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

This study demonstrated that AECOPD patients have a prothrombotic state, as demonstrated by vWF and PAI-1 levels in plasma compared with those in control subjects, and the prothrombotic state increases with increasing COPD exacerbation risk.
