Abstract

The article examines such processes as the change of toponyms since the independence of Kazakhstan, the correction of distorted names, the return of previous historical names corresponding to national knowledge, the replacement of neutral names with zootoponyms that determine the social status and preference of knowledge of the people. The importance in creating a topographic fund by classifying the motives for changing toponyms in Kazakhstan has been revealed. The purpose of the article is to determine the process of changing toponyms in Kazakhstan, show statistics based on several regions, classify the motives underlying the diachrony of toponyms, and determine the reason for their change. Analysis of information related to social, linguistic, psychological motivation in the diachrony of toponyms, development and systematization of scientific justification. Research methods: statistical method, typological method, descriptive approach, conceptual, component (semantic) analysis. Research work is carried out in the lexical-semantic, cognitive direction. In the course of determining the diachrony of toponyms, the direction of replenishment of the topographic fund of Kazakhstan and the social value of their information can be identified, helping to identify important factors for the life and spiritual development of the people. The practical significance of the article lies in the fact that its main results can be used in theoretical courses such as sociolinguistics, onomastics, cognitive linguistics, linguoculturology, as well as in seminars on the practice of teaching the Kazakh language.
