IMPACTO DO PUERPÉRIO NA SAÚDE MENTAL: A ATUAÇÃO DA PSICOLOGIA NOS DESAFIOS E ESTRATÉGIAS DE PROMOÇÃO DE SAÚDE NO PÓS PARTO

The current research aims at investigating the impacts of mental health on the puerperium, and its risk factors. The puerperium is characterized as a complex period composed of abundant physical, emotional and social transformations. Therefore, the study seeks to understand how psychology can contribute to minimizing the challenges faced by mothers, in promoting health and in the effectiveness of psychological interventions, support networks and self-care. The research method used is a qualitative bibliographic review, which brings different perceptions and can identify significant barriers to obtaining necessary care, under the hypothesis that mothers who receive psychological interventions may have a greater ability to face the challenges of motherhood.
