DIFFICULTIES CLASSIFYING PARALINGUISTIC MEANS IN A LITERARY TEXT
Paralinguistic means of communication—that is, gestures, facial expressions, and vocal tones—define meaning in great part. This study investigates the several types of nonverbal communication, their reliance on context, cultural differences, the subjective character of interpretation, their interaction with written text, and the absence of standard classification systems.
