Geometric error modeling and sensitivity analysis of a B-axis of the B-axis power-driven turret

Abstract To guide the design of the B-axis power-driven turret and improve its end accuracy, the geometric error model of its B-axis is established, and the sensitivity analysis of the error sources is completed. Firstly, based on the structure of the B-axis, six branch chains that can transfer the error sources of each component to the end error are decomposed. Then, the error modeling of the B-axis is transformed into error modeling for each branch chain. Secondly, the mapping relationship between the end position and orientation error and the error sources of each component is deduced using the multibody system theory method, and the sensitivity analysis model of the error sources is established using the Morris method. Finally, based on the example, the influence degree of each component error source on the end error and its components is obtained, and the key error sources affecting the accuracy of the B-axis are screened out, which lays a solid foundation for the accuracy synthesis and error compensation of the B-axis.
