Numerical simulation of thermal deformation of oil distribution sleeve based on heat transfer theory

Abstract In this paper, a study of numerical simulation was conducted based on heat transfer and finite element theory, to analyze the sealing gap change between the oil distribution sleeve (ODS) and the shaft by the effect of temperature. The results showed that the temperature is the dominant reason for the failure of the ODS seal. The thermal deformation of the ODS is radiative expansion and the sealing gap is linearly positively related to the temperature. The wall thickness did not affect the distribution of thermal deformation of the ODS. The sealing gap increases with the increase of the thickness of the inner cylinder but decreases with the increase of the thickness of the outer cylinder. Therefore, keeping a small thickness ratio is conducive to enhancing the sealing performance of the ODS.
