Preface

The World Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent Manufacturing is a yearly held conference to publish the research results and development in fields of and related to mechanical engineering and intelligent manufacturing. The 2023 6 th World Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent Manufacturing (WCMEIM 2023) was held in Wuhan, China from 17 th to 19 th November 2023 via hybrid form, revealing the sixth conference of WCMEIM series. Through a rigorous peer-review process, all submissions from the conference were performed double blind review to check their quality of content, level of innovation, significance, originality and legibility. The topics embraced cover Mechanical Manufacturing Technology, Fully Integrated Automation, Advanced Control and Optimization Technology, Intelligent Control System, Artificial intelligence, etc. The conference agenda was colorful, mainly including opening ceremony, keynote speech, oral presentation, poster presentation, academic discussion, closing ceremony, etc. During the keynote speech session, an important issue was the sharing and discussion of Disturbance Rejection Model Predictive Control in Mechatronic Systems by Professor Shihua Li from Southeast University, China. He focused his speech on talking about the disturbance rejection model predictive control solutions, which provides a different way to deliver optimization control in the presence of disturbances and constraints, thus can effectively improve the performance of closed-loop systems. In addition, the oral and poster presentations gave extra opportunities for the young scholars and graduate students to present their research results and ideas, to exchange research experience with each other, as well as to gain new insights from the experts and professionals present. Last but not the least, the outstanding representers were awarded for their wonderful representations and contributions. Attended by about 300 participants, WCMEIM 2023 provided a great opportunity for scholar and researchers to present and discuss the latest research results and progress accumulated during last year. Another important feature of this series of meeting has always been the participation of a large number of relevant scientists and researchers from all over the world. It thus represented an important addition to the series of World Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent Manufacturing held every year in different regions of China. We are grateful to all the people who were involved in the whole process of the conference. Especially, we acknowledge the contributions from each author, the reviewing efforts from all the expert reviewers, the support from the conference sponsors, as well as the valuable spadework of the conference organizers.
