Simulation analysis of flow and acoustic characteristics of exhaust muffler of rolling rotor compressor

Abstract To investigate the influence characteristics of the size and height of the muffler exhaust hole on its pressure loss and transmission loss, this paper constructs a finite element model of the muffler of the rolling rotor compressor, and conducts numerical simulation analysis on the acoustic performance and resistance characteristics of the model. The simulation results showed that as the height of the muffler increased, its internal pressure loss decreased significantly, and its ability to reduce low-frequency noise was also considerably improved. The increase in exhaust hole diameter will also reduce the pressure loss, but the pressure loss is very low after increasing the hole diameter. In the frequency range of 400 ∼ 850 Hz, the noise reduction effect of the muffler decreases with the increase of the aperture, and the influence of other frequency ranges on the transmission loss is very small. The research results have certain reference values for the design and structural optimization of mufflers.
