Measuring performance in clinical outcomes: anaesthetics
Conclusions: This project demonstrates the successful implementation of a hospital-wide Sip Til Send policy, with a significant reduction in preoperative fluid fasting times. There were however several outliers with patients fasting for excessively prolonged periods of time.In addition, many patients were drinking only small amounts of water; going forward, we will focus on encouraging patients to drink for hydration.
