“Liver’ the DrEaM”
Introduction: Enhanced recovery pathways for liver resection surgery reduce postoperative complications and shorten length of hospital stay.1 Low compliance is a limitation with increasingly complex pathways.1 Drinking, Eating and Mobilising (DrEaMing) within 24 h of surgery is a simplified enhanced recovery bundle associated with improved patient outcomes and reduced length of hospital stay.2 Current local practice is for elective liver resection patients to be admitted to the PACU for the first 24–48 h after surgery.
