Control of the Hippocampal CA1 Area Activity by Adaptive Close-Loop Stimulation
Here we propose the close-loop control system to maintain the activity of living hippocampal neurons in real time. The system performs real time detection of LFP and automatically measures its amplitude. The adaptive stimulation amplitude is set to minimize the difference between the current LFP amplitude and the desired one and changes proportionally to the difference. The development of adaptive stimulation systems that can change stimulation parameters in real time depending on the patient's condition improves the efficacy and safety of treatment.
