Biological Sex Determines Differences in Gene Expression During Replicative Aging of Glia in Vitro
Aging and age-associated diseases occur differently in men and women. At the same time, the question remains open about the degree of influence of sex chromosomes, not only on the body as a whole but also on physiological and biochemical processes in individual cells. We studied the expression of genes associated with cellular development and death, cellular energy, and inflammation in glial cultures from XX- and XY -genotypes. A difference in expression of a number of genes was found when actin was used as a reference.
