Grief, the Creative Process, and Making a Poem
The process of coping with grief through creative expression is explored in a poem dedicated to a late friend, David. By engaging with poetry, both as a creator and a reader, the grieving process is facilitated, promoting a sense of closure and acceptance. This poster examines how, through vivid imagery and introspective reflections, the poet navigates through themes of silence, nature, and memory, culminating in a heartfelt tribute to the departed friend. Ultimately, the creative process becomes a pathway towards understanding and processing the complexities of grief, allowing for a sense of closure and healing. From the UB RISE 2023 forum.
