Experimental insights on sound characteristics and psychoacoustic parameters on axial fan performance in heat pump systems
This study focuses on the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and experimental measurements of the sound power level of an axial fan used in heat pump systems. Calculations and experiments were systematically conducted for three different fan-evaporator distances. CFD results, including kinetic energy and velocity vector values, were obtained and compared with experimental sound power results. The relationships obtained were thoroughly examined in terms of their impact on psychoacoustic parameters. This study was conducted to contribute to the understanding of fan performance and sound characteristics in heat pump systems. The results provide crucial information for users aiming to reduce air-source noise and determine optimized fan-evaporator distances for acoustic comfort.
