Flight test for the noise source modeling of the optionally piloted personal air vehicle

An acoustic flight test is carried out in order to obtain the noise hemisphere of the optionally piloted personal air vehicle (OPPAV). The OPPAV is one-seater, research urban air mobility (UAM) being developed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute. Noise radiated from the aircraft is measured using a microphone array consisting of a total of 78 microphones. Flight logs such as the aircraft position, velocity, and attitude are recorded synchronously with the acoustic signals. Measured acoustic signals are dedopplerized and divided into a number of segments. Noise source model for the OPPAV flight is constructed using these segments. The noise source model will be used for the assessment of noise annoyance during urban flight of the UAMs.
