Skrining Aktivitas Antidiabetes pada Beberapa Ekstrak Menggunakan Metode Nelson-Somogyi

Abstract. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic health condition characterized by high blood glucose levels due to impaired insulin production or function. With the increasing prevalence of diabetes in Indonesia, it encourages researchers to look for alternative treatments sourced from natural materials. One of the first steps is to screen the potential of natural compounds as antidiabetics. In this systematic literature review, the potential of natural ingredients as antidiabetic candidates was assessed in vitro using the Nelson Somogyi method. The results of the study found that some extracts containing flavonoid compounds have the potential to reduce blood glucose levels. The combination of cabbage and tomato ethanol extract in the ratio (1:2) has the best glucose level reduction of 4.52 ppm.
