Phytochemical screening of the essential oil provided information about its major compounds, which include terpenes and anthocyanins. To assess the antioxidant and antimicrobial effects of the essential oil, multiple methods were employed. Positive results were obtained from tests such as DPPH and ABTS free radical scavenging, inhibition of bovine serum albumin protein denaturation, and antifungal and antibacterial assays. These tests confirmed the presence of antifungal, antibacterial and antioxidant activities and suggest numerous biotechnological applications of the essential oil.
