Manifestation and Suppression of Nonlinearity Using Optical Phase Conjugation in Long Haul Optical Communication
Optical phase conjugation (OPC) has been a prominent area of study in fields such as quantum electronics as well as nonlinear optics for the past thirty years. When two coherent optical beams travel in opposite directions with identical amplitude values and an opposite wave front, typically there is a unique relationship characterized between them by OPC. This report outlines the comprehensive design of an Optical communication model which suppresses nonlinearity via the use of Optical Phase Conjugation. The model is equipped with a CW laser having 32-input signals accompanied by extensive modules containing forks and Mach-Zehnder modulator. This design choice facilitates efficient and streamlined transmission of data through the communication model. Q-factor curves and eye diagrams are used to measure and extensively examine the proposed framework. The three stages of the model's design-light signal generation, nonlinearity addition, and optical phase conjugation with an optical loop mirror-all work together to improve output and overall performance.
