Classical and Quantum Computational Electromagnetics: An Overview
Classical and quantum computational electromagnetics (CEM) are important for the development of new technologies. For instance, classical CEM, together with circuit theory, are responsible for over 90 percent of the design of modern computer chips. The knowledge base for classical CEM has been developed since the 1960’s. On the other hand, the knowledge base for quantum CEM is less mature and less richly endowed compared to classical CEM. We will review the past achievements in classical CEM, recent achievements in classical CEM, and quantum CEM.
