Circularly-Polarized Compact Antenna Design With OAM Structured Wave Beam Recovery Using Pyramidal Horn Reflector

This article presents a study on the recovery of the Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) structured wave produced by a compact fractal antenna designed for vehicular applications in the 5.9 GHz band. The OAM beam carrier field of order -1 was recovered in the far field region by an optimized Pyramidal Horn Reflector (PHR). Simulation results obtained using the CST Studios Suite ${ }^{\text {TM }}$ software showed that, with the application of the PHR reflector, the performance of the parameters the compact receiver fractal antenna, such as the coefficient modulus, impedance, directional gain and polarization were not reduced. Furthermore, phase and amplitude distribution results at 5.9 GHz indicate the presence of the spiral pattern of the OAM beam in the region close to the compact fractal antenna (transmitter) and at the far-field region selected for the receiver.
