Resonant free multi-trace, single source equations for penetrable structures
This contribution introduces a multi-trace, single source formulation for the scattering of time harmonic electromagnetic waves on composite structures, that does not suffer from resonance in homogeneous penetrable regions. Multi-trace, single source equations for the electric and magnetic field are combined in a novel formulation that is free of resonances. A Calderón preconditioner is applied to limit the number of iteration required for the solution of the discrete system. The fast convergence and resonant free character of this new formulation is demonstrated in a numerical experiment.
