Preliminary Study of Spinal Fixation System Effect on Neural Activation During Spinal Cord Stimulation
This preliminary study investigates spinal fixation system effect on neuromodulation for spinal cord system when a spinal fixation system is implanted near the lead electrodes of the spinal cord stimulator. Three implantation positions, three different stimulation waveforms, and nine nerve fiber diameters were considered in this study. For the configurations under this study, the spinal fixation system does not have significant impact on the activation threshold for the nerve system under this study.
