Enhanced-Bandwidth T-Match Folded Antenna with Advanced Reactance Tunability for Conjugate Impedance Matching with ICs
This study introduces a T-match Folded Antenna, compares it with a conventional T-match Dipole Antenna, and demonstrates significant enhancements in performance. Both antennas aim for conjugate matching with an IC at 920 MHz on a dielectric substrate with a relative permittivity of 4.3 and a loss tangent of 0.011. The novel folded design achieves an impressive $24.3 \%$ impedance bandwidth from 753 to 977 MHz, significantly outperforming the dipole’s $9.7 \%$ from 870 to 960 MHz. Additionally, the new antenna reduces physical length by 20 mm, optimizing space without using complex structures like meandering. This research highlights the benefits of integrating T-match with folded antennas for improved bandwidth and compactness.
