Well-conditioned T-Matrix Method for a Dipole-Excited Infinite Dielectric Cylinder

The elements for the scattering of the source fields with finite support by objects of longitudinal uniformity are still under development to model novel use cases [1], [2]. Here we revisit a classical approach formulating its well-conditioned version for a dielectric cylinder illuminated by a dipole. This requires the numerical quadrature evaluation on a path of the complex plane representing the longitudinal spectrum [3], each contribution of which is the outcome of the 2.5 dimension problem formulated on the transverse plane in terms of 2D coupled polarization surface integral equations (2) elaborated via extended boundary condition method [4]. Also known as the T-Matrix method, this method has recently been approached to have its linear algebraic systems well-conditioned for normal incidence in 2D [5] and its specified treatment to the solutions of coupled unknowns in the transverse plane with the complex-valued wavenumbers is incorporated herein.
