Loop Antenna Array for mm-Wave Applications

A compact dual-polarized loop antenna is proposed for vehicular applications. The antenna comprises a 4x1 array operating from 24.25 GHz to 26.15 GHz and employs a microstrip-grounded CPW transition. The antenna provides both horizontal and vertical polarization radiation properties with a maximum gain of 6.9 dBi. The combined pattern from both polarizations shows an omnidirectional ripple of less than 4.0 dB.

Abstract

A compact dual-polarized loop antenna is proposed for vehicular applications. The antenna comprises a 4x1 array operating from 24.25 GHz to 26.15 GHz and employs a microstrip-grounded CPW transition. The antenna provides both horizontal and vertical polarization radiation properties with a maximum gain of 6.9 dBi. The combined pattern from both polarizations shows an omnidirectional ripple of less than 4.0 dB.
