A Clustering Approach for Understanding Bone Health using RF Transmission Characteristics
Osteoporosis detection is critical for timely intervention and management of bone health. This paper presents a novel approach utilizing a bow-tie antenna transmit-receive system coupled with classification techniques to detect osteoporosis stages. A cohort of 24 participants, spanning ages 18 to 60 and representing both genders, underwent electromagnetic wave measurements using the Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). The collected data were processed and analyzed using clustering techniques to classify participants into different osteoporosis stages. Results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach in accurately detecting osteoporosis stages, with implications for early diagnosis and personalized treatment.
