Free-standing compound anapoles

Transparency effects in photonics: cloaking, transformation optics, and anapole states have limitations following from Devaney-Wolf theorems. Accordingly, the weak and strong solutions obey the condition for the suppressed radiating harmonics in the far-field zone. In real systems, this condition is fulfilled only for certain harmonics that can be considered invisible. From the multipole decomposition approach, all transparency effects allow one to suppress certain main multipoles, while the higher-order non-resonant multipoles are always presented in the multipole spectra. Nevertheless, in this work, we propose free-standing compound anapole all-dielectric metasurface demonstrates the minimizing of radiating intensities of multipoles for a two centrosymmetric particle unit-cells. In accordance to multipole approach, the radiating multipoles of each particle compensate to each other in the compound system independent on angles and polarizations of the incident wave. We study proposed metamaterial theoretically and experimentaly in THz frequency range, as well as we study in microwave the scattering of electromagnetic wave by single compound structure. Therefore, we fabricate the sample by means of free-standing surface technique on the base of silicon wafer. These results have advanced applications in light-matter THz photonics.
