Evaluating the Impact of a Complex Volume Conductor Model on Network Dynamics for Deep Brain Stimulation
Computational modelling of deep brain stimulation for obsessive-compulsive disorder is vital for understanding the complex neural mechanisms underlying the disorder and for optimising treatment efficacy. This work presents a computational study investigating the intricate relationship between an advanced volume conductor model and a biophysical network model of the striatum in modelling deep brain stimulation. We highlight the pivotal role of integrating complex volume conductor models with neural network simulations and provide insights into their profound impact on understanding brain activity.
