Integrated antenna design for Autonomous Train Control System
Traditional train control systems are increasingly evolving around on-board systems, communications, and software, resulting in significant changes that improve control efficiency, reduce headway between trains, and minimize infrastructure and maintenance costs. Currently, widely used communication-based train control (CBTC) systems use two-way radio communication between onboard control systems and ground control systems to significantly reduce train headway, but they have a number of limitations due to their reliance on centralized ground control systems, the limited number of trains they can control, and fixed control flows. To overcome these limitations, the development of autonomous train control systems (ATCS) is underway, which allow trains to determine their own operating authority by increasing cooperation between trains and reducing reliance on ground control commands. For ATCS systems to function effectively, low-latency and highly reliable wireless communications are essential.
