RUSSIAN FOLK MUSIC IN THE GUITARIST’S REPERTOIRE

The article examines the relationship between Russian folk music culture and the formation of Russian guitar performance. The author determines the role of Russian folk motifs, songs, and tunes in the professional performing and composing activities of modern guitarists. In accordance with the time periods, the author of the article brie y describes the activities of Russian composers of music for seven-and six-stringed guitars, who turned to the Russian folk repertoire, as well as folk song. The “folk” repertoire heritage of famous guitarists contributes to the disclosure of the national avour of classical guitar in modern conditions; it makes it possible to synthesise strict classical musical forms with jazz and modern music.
