Research on Multisensor Switching Control for the Photoelectric Tracking System

Photoelectric tracking system plays a crucial role in guiding, capturing, tracking, and pointing in various applications. Different modes within the system rely on diverse sensor inputs and serve specific functions, requiring tailored control methods and objectives. Smooth mode transitions based on real-time conditions are essential for optimal system performance. Mode switching and sensor switching can lead to challenges such as overshooting and oscillation, potentially resulting in system failure and target loss. To overcome these issues, this article introduces innovative solutions by proposing a model-free compound nonlinear feedback (CNF) switching controller for photoelectric tracking systems. This controller aims to provide rapid and overshoot-free transitions while maintaining stability during the sensor feedback shifts. The nonlinear control strategy is designed to align with practical usage scenarios of photoelectric tracking systems, providing physical interpretation to adjustable parameters within the controller for simplified parameter tuning and reduced complexity. Simulation and practical experiments have validated the effectiveness of this method, showcasing its ability to swiftly converge to the desired position without overshooting during mode transitions. The achieved overshoot in switching regulation remains below 1%, with adjustment times consistently under 0.1 s. These results demonstrate the potential of the proposed controller to enhance tracking performance and stability in optoelectronic tracking systems.
