30 Years After: State of the Art and New Ideas for the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration

and other founders agreed to propose the formation of the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV), a new international scientific society dedicated to acoustics and vibration.In July 2024, on the occasion of the 30th ICSV Congress, I had the great honor of becoming President of the Institute, succeeding in office many distinguished scientists and international experts in acoustics and vibrations, first of all, Sir James Lighthill, who was the IIAV first president and gave the first strong impulse for the creation and launch of the many glorious activities of the Institute.
