EXCISÃO DE MUCOCELE EM LÁBIO INFERIOR: RELATO DE CASO

Mucocele is the phenomenon of mucin leakage into soft tissues. The most common benign lesion of the oral cavity, of traumatic etiology, pseudocyst that appears after rupture of the duct of a minor salivary gland, with a predilection for the lower lip, floor of the mouth, belly of the tongue, followed by the buccal mucosa. It is worth mentioning that mucoceles can be self-limiting, that is, they rupture leaving shallow, painful ulcers and then heal on their own. However, there are mucoceles of a chronic nature, which require surgical excision and microscopic evaluation. In this sense, the present work aims to carry out a literature review as well as describe a clinical case report of mucocele in the lower lip, whose treatment of choice was surgical excision. In short, the chosen procedure is considered by many authors to be atraumatic, safe and effective.
