PERFIL DE ÓBITOS DOS PACIENTES INTERNADOS POR TRAUMA ABDOMINAL NO HOSPITAL REGIONAL DA CEILÂNDIA EM 2021.

Traumatic injuries are one of the leading causes of death worldwide, especially among young and adult men. The main objective of this study is to outline the profile of deaths related to patients with abdominal trauma who underwent surgical treatment. Regarding the methods adopted, this is a cross-sectional study, with a qualitative, retrospective and observational approach, carried out using secondary data collected in the electronic medical records of the Hospital Regional de Ceilândia - DF, during the year 2021. The variables used as object of study were: number of laparotomies due to abdominal trauma; sex most affected; service shift; trauma etiology and clinical outcome. During the period, 93 records of patients hospitalized due to abdominal trauma requiring laparotomy were observed. The study showed that 86% of patients were discharged as a clinical outcome, and that 10.8% died. The remainder comprise 2.2% of those whose registration was lost and 1.1% who evaded the place of care. The analysis of the profile of patients who died sought to elucidate the etiologies related to abdominal trauma that most led to this outcome, so that strategies for improving care can be considered, and consequently, reduce the mortality rate associated with the problem.
