Development of Automated Process Control System for Mold Vacuum Treatment for Casting with Pressure Crystallization

This research presents an efficient implementation of modern computer technology to control mold vacuum treatment. The authors propose technical measurement and control solutions to process information on the crystallization of aluminum alloys under pressure. They suggest a system of equations that accounts for pressure changes in the die mold cavity during casting with crystallization under pressure. It is established that the efficient evacuation of gases from a die mold requires accounting for the total volume of air inside the mold cavity between its walls, melt mirror, and injection plungers, as well as the volume of the die mold cavity and the volume of vapors and gases produced by lubricant decomposition. An algorithm to operate a control system and an interface for the control program have been developed.
