Current Methods and Tools for Assessing the Metrological Characteristics of Gyro Devices and Inertial Units

The article is devoted to functional and metrological analysis of methods and tools of reproduction of angular oscillations, designed to study the characteristics of gyroscopic devices and inertial modules. The article considers the modes of functioning of gyro devices on moving objects, existing methods and equipment for determining the dynamic characteristics of navigation devices. New methods of estimation of dynamic error of devices and systems on the basis of reproduction of polyharmonic oscillations in a given frequency spectrum corresponding to the device operating conditions are proposed. The experience of reproduction of pseudo-random oscillations on test benches is proposed. The methods are adapted for application on test equipment and allow estimating the dynamic error of gyro devices in real modes of their operation. The result of the analysis is the creation of new methods of testing gyroscopic devices for various purposes, based on the selection of the most rational methods and modern technical means. The use of such methods in practice will contribute to the adequate normalization of device characteristics and assessment of their numerical characteristics, which will lead to an increase in the quality of navigation devices.
