Flight Simulator Imitators Synthesizing a 3D-Model of the External Environment
Currently, an urgent task in aviation simulator construction is the development of a visually observable 3D-model of the external environment, synthesized by a visual environment simulator and a thermal imager simulator, inside which a controlled model of the aircraft can move. Existing methods, techniques and algorithms for synthesis during a training flight on an aviation simulator of the visually observable part of a 3D-model of the external environment, captured in the surveillance camera of a particular simulator, are focused on the technical characteristics of the optical-software-hardware means of the simulators under consideration. However, the results of research conducted by the authors of the article in this area show that this approach has significant drawbacks. Previously conducted studies did not take into account, or took into account to a minimum extent, the requirements for improving the components of the pilot's cognitive model, which did not contradict but complemented the previously formed components of the pilot's cognitive model acquired during pre-flight training and when flying on a real aircraft. The article discusses options for modeling a 3D-model of a virtual environment composed of a 3D-model of the external environment developed for observation in the visual range of electromagnetic waves and a 3D-model of the external environment developed for observation in the IR-range of electromagnetic waves.
