Simulators Synthesizing Visual 3D-Models of the External Environment

Currently, comprehensive flight simulators feature only one module that synthesizes a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$3D$</tex>-image of the external environment in real-time. The visual environment simulator immerses the person in the <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$3D$</tex>-model of space and helps them to train the eyesight measurement. Simultaneously, a large number of aircraft are being fitted with night vision systems and radars. They help pilots control airplanes using the screen images of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$3D$</tex>-projections of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$3D$</tex>-objects that can be seen in the IR range or reflected radio waves. Therefore, modern flight simulators must be fitted with night vision system and radar simulators. This article presents the results of the research into the potential development of night vision system and radar simulators based on the usage of computerized image generators that have already proved themselves as key components of a visual environment simulator.
