Exploring 3D Gaussian Splatting: An Algorithmic Perspective
3D scene representation has long been a challenge in computer graphics and computer vision. 3D Gaussian Splat-ting, with its explicit scene representation and differentiable rendering algorithm promises not only the possibility of real-time scene rendering, but also introduces an unprecedented level of editability. These characteristics position 3D Gaussian Splatting as a groundbreaking solution for a new generation of 3D reconstruction methods. This paper explores the technical aspects of 3D Gaussian Splatting, highlighting its potential to revolutionize fields such as computer graphics, virtual reality, and augmented reality.
