Empirical Models of Ship’s Induced Magnetic Fields Based on Gaussian Fitting
In the modern naval warfare, the magnetic signals of the ship are crucial indicators for the under-water weapon like mines and torpedoes. Thus, attention has been increasingly paid to the relationship of the induced magnetic field to its direction and location. An empirical model for the induced magnetic field of ships based on the Gaussian fitting is proposed in the paper and the validation has shown a good fitting, greater than 91%. The results show that the proposed empirical model can provide a theoretical basis for stealth technologies such as ship-degaussing and low-magnetization design, serving as an important reference for critical engineering projects.
