A Mixed Total Field/Scattered Field-Based Discontinuous Galerkin Frequency Domain Method in a Uniaxial Medium

A mixed total field/scattered field (TF/SF) discontinuous Galerkins method in frequency domain (DGFD) in a uniaxial medium is proposed to model scattered fields accurately. The TF/SF is implemented with the domain decomposition method, where different subdomains can either use TF DGFD scheme or SF DGFD scheme. The Riemann transmission condition is adopted to couple different subdomains, where at interfaces the Riemann transmission condition is modified with the incident fields from uniaxial background medium due to imposed sources. A numerical example with uniaxial background media and a uniaxial scatter is modeled to validate the algorithm by comparing the results with the finite element method.
