Finite Element Boundary Integral Method to Calculate Eddy Current Responses
In this paper, a numerical simulation for eddy current responses is carried out using the finite element boundary integral (FEBI) method. The finite element method (FEM) is applied to deal with the interior of the object, and the boundary integral method (BIM) is applied as the boundary condition for the solution domain of the FEM method. The iterative method is applied to solve the discretized matrix obtained by FEBI. The eddy current responses, which are the impedance variations of the object under detect, are calculated by the Auld formulation. By testing the benchmark problem, the results achieved by FEBI are compared with those by other methods, which prove that FEBI can simulate the responses of eddy currents both accurately and efficiently.
