Design of a 220 GHz Double Staggered Vane Traveling Wave Tube

In this paper, a high-power and high-efficiency traveling wave tube amplifier is designed, using the staggered double vane slow wave structure with a pencil beam. The PIC simulation result shows that this amplifier could generate a stable power of 45 W with a gain of 29.6 dB and an efficiency of 4.74%, driven by a voltage of 23.8 kV and current of 40 mA.
