Influence of Electromagnetic Scattering Phase Fluctuation on Coherence Efficiency of Spatially Distributed Radars
Widely spatially distributed radar can enhance signal-to-noise ratio O(N) times of a single radar by coherent processing of echoes from sub-radars, where N denotes the number of sub-radars. However, when aperture of the distributed radar is large, target scattering fluctuation between sub-radars becomes un-ignorable and deteriorates coherent processing performance. This paper analyzes influence of target scattering fluctuation between sub-radars on coherence efficiency of spatially distributed radar. It is observed from simulated data that target scattering fluctuation between sub-radars does exist and must be take into consideration when high coherence efficiency is expected.
