A Beamforming Method to Enhance the Main Lobe Direction of NSB Algorithm

Aiming at the problem that the main flap directivity of the array antenna is shifted greatly outside the effective scanning range. In this paper, a beamforming method to enhance the main lobe directivity of the Null Steering Beamformer (NSB) algorithm is proposed without changing the array antenna structure. It adds virtual null around the main lobe to reduce the width of the main lobe, thus reducing the main lobe offset error. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the method effectively enhances the main lobe directivity.

Abstract

Aiming at the problem that the main flap directivity of the array antenna is shifted greatly outside the effective scanning range. In this paper, a beamforming method to enhance the main lobe directivity of the Null Steering Beamformer (NSB) algorithm is proposed without changing the array antenna structure. It adds virtual null around the main lobe to reduce the width of the main lobe, thus reducing the main lobe offset error. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the method effectively enhances the main lobe directivity.
