A novel rectangular waveguide array with side-fed structure

A novel waveguide antenna array using rectangular waveguide with metallic block as radiator element is presented. The radiator elements are same as each other ,which simplifies the design. The simulated sidelobe of sum pattern is less than -22dB and the simulated efficiency is about 45% ,which show that this proposed novel waveguide antenna is of the characteristics of low sidelobe levels and great efficiency as traditional slotted waveguide antenna.

Abstract

A novel waveguide antenna array using rectangular waveguide with metallic block as radiator element is presented. The radiator elements are same as each other ,which simplifies the design. The simulated sidelobe of sum pattern is less than -22dB and the simulated efficiency is about 45% ,which show that this proposed novel waveguide antenna is of the characteristics of low sidelobe levels and great efficiency as traditional slotted waveguide antenna.
