Ultrabroadband Metamaterial Absorber Based on Multilayer Resistive Film Frequency Selective Surface
An ultrabroadband metamaterial absorber is proposed based on multilayer resistive film frequency selective surface (RFSS). Each dielectric-resistive film composite layer consists of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and a resistive film. Effective absorption is achieved through the multilayer RFSS, modeled as a series-connected RLC circuit. Experimental result shows that the absorber covers a -10 dB bandwidth of 1.07-11.84 GHz, with a fractional bandwidth of 166% and a thickness of 0.105 λL. It covers the L-, S-, C-, and X-bands, making it suitable for low-frequency applications such as satellite navigation and communications.
