Time-domain Responses of The Array Antenna Under External High-power EMP

The transient responses of a rectangular microstrip array antenna in the complex wireless electrical system under the impact of an external high-power electromagnetic pulse (EMP) are studied in this paper. The time-frequency coupling characteristics of rectangular microstrip array antennas in radar systems were studied under Gaussian electromagnetic pulse(G EMP), high altitude nuclear electromagnetic pulse (HEMP), high-power microwave (HPM), and ultra-wideband (UWB) pulse, by using the finite integration technique (FIT) method. The induced time-domain voltages characteristics of the antenna illuminated by different EMPs are presented and compared in detail. These simulated results can used to further evaluating electromagnetic environment destroy effects and electromagnetic protection of some complex radar systems.
