Resonance Scattering Generated by a Rotating Dielectric Mesoscale Sphere
The resonance scattering generated by a dielectric mesoscale sphere exerted by polarized plane waves is studied based on the "instantaneous rest-frame" hypothesis and Minkowski’s theory. Both the electric and magnetic resonances are discussed. The characteristic of resonance scattering of a rotating sphere is discussed. The impact of the rotating dimensionless parameter γ , which determines the rotation angular velocity of a particle on the resonance scattering, is emphasized. The results of this paper have promising potential applications for mesotronics, which provides a novel design method for rotating resonators and ultra-sensitive sensors.
